A family business established 1972
The Stables Bar was established on the 12th December 1972 and was founded by James and Mary Smyth and Sean and Ann McGeown.
It was built in the Townland of Taghnaven, close to Lurgan town centre, on the grounds of an original hitching post (changing horses on carriages). Because of this history it was named The Stables Bar.
Past to present
Over the years, the Stables Bar has been revamped into a modern and expansive complex that now has Bars, Offsales, Restaurant, Beer Garden and two large function rooms with linked outdoor drinking areas. These are available for Weddings, Birthdays, Meetings, Parties and other events.
The Stables Bar is now under the management of Robin and Mary Mcgeown together with the grandchildren of Sean and Ann.
